Description

We're looking for a Material Control Supervisor to join our team. As a Material Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising all operations, including inbound, outbound, and claims processing. You will work closely with the Superintendent and Plant Manager to ensure the delivery of objectives such as building safety, positive UAW relationships, error rate, denial rate, inventory accuracy, overtime percentage, absenteeism, vacation scheduling, grid time, on-time delivery, ISO 14001 environmental responsibilities, LPMH, process adherence/improvement, accountability, customer satisfaction, accurate application of the Ford-UAW National and Local Contracts, direct supervision/training of GSR 6 supervisors. Overall building organization and cleanliness, grievance resolution, supervision mentoring, and willingness to work all shifts as required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising all operations, including inbound, outbound, and claims processing
  • Working closely with the Superintendent and Plant Manager to ensure the delivery of objectives
  • Covering crews on whatever shift they are assigned
  • Attending, facilitating, and submitting proper documentation for crew meetings
  • Preparing/maintaining work-related records as needed
  • Scheduling workforce (including overtime and vacation)
  • Championing and leading continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-3 years operational experience within a manufacturing parts environment
  • Self-starter
  • Willing to work rotating work hours when required
  • Knowledge or ability to learn current systems (SAP/EWM)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently
  • Goal-oriented individual
  • Have continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to demand accountability from all employees

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 1-3 years operational experience within a HVC/HCC highly preferred
  • Previous UAW/HVC supervisory experience preferred
