The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting applications that organisations use every day to keep their countries safe. This includes architecting and developing interfaces to make sophisticated, data-intensive workflows both powerful and approachable, including to non-technical users.
As a frontend engineer working on our defence product offering, you will be involved throughout the product lifecycle - from idea generation, design, and prototyping to execution and shipping. You will work with a team of technical and non-technical individuals, brainstorming and iterating with product designers to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced CI/CD development environment.
Some examples of product work you could work on are:
- Build for high-scale, collaborative, geospatial workflows (Gaia)
- Design sophisticated frameworks to enable complex workflows across applications in a single workspace
- Develop the next generation of real-time collaborative tooling and data-analysis solutions (Secure Collaboration)
Technologies used include Typescript and React, as well as Blueprint as a re-usable frontend component library. Industry-standard build tooling, including Gradle, Webpack, GitHub, and CircleCI, are also utilised.
The company values passion for building user interfaces that enable users to tackle their problems, as well as the ability to work optimally in teams and learn continuously. A proven ability to learn new technology and concepts, even without in-depth experience, is also highly valued.
To be considered for this role, you should have 2+ years of frontend software engineering experience, strong frontend coding skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential. Eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance are required.
