Description
At Ford Motor Company, we're seeking a Senior Prototype Engineer to join our Product Development team. As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with aerodynamics, engineering, and design teams to create visually, geometrically, and functionally representative physical test properties. Your expertise will be utilized to develop unique approaches for using physical test properties to evaluate and define aerodynamic devices or user experiences in future electric vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create physical test properties
- Developing and implementing innovative approaches for evaluating and defining aerodynamic devices or user experiences
- Utilizing relevant CAD software to interface with cross-functional data and perform design tasks
- Interpreting and preparing 2D drawings for manufacturing partners
- Analyzing early design concepts for mechanical and structural feasibility
- Creating robust and functional mock-ups for conducting preliminary user studies and ergonomic evaluation
- Building and assembling physical prototypes using hand tools, power tools, and light metal or wood machinery
In addition to your technical expertise, you'll possess excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
