Sourcing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sourcing Specialist to join our Supply Chain team at Shield AI. This full-time role is focused on managing a diverse portfolio of indirect procurement categories, including facilities, production tooling and equipment, IT hardware, software, and engineering equipment.

The ideal candidate combines strong purchasing fundamentals with the drive to streamline procurement processes, support internal stakeholders, and deliver high-impact results in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Executing and managing purchase orders (POs) for indirect spend categories, ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and alignment with internal requirements.
• Partnering with stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and IT to source and procure goods and services that meet cost, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Negotiating pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers to achieve optimal value and support budget objectives.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the company's ERP system (Deltek Costpoint), including supplier data, PO tracking, and delivery schedules.
• Supporting supplier qualification and onboarding for indirect vendors, ensuring compliance with Shield AI's standards and policies.
• Collaborating cross-functionally to forecast indirect procurement needs and identify opportunities for process or cost improvements.
• Partnering with finance and stakeholders to reconcile invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payment.
• Supporting implementation of standard work and best practices for indirect procurement processes.

Required qualifications include:

• 2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing, with a focus on indirect categories such as facilities, IT, software, or capital equipment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and high-volume transactional work while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to partner effectively with internal teams and suppliers.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS or other compliance-driven procurement practices.
• Background in sourcing or managing suppliers for capital equipment, production tooling, or IT infrastructure.
• Background in sourcing or managing contractors for commercial construction projects.
• Experience developing or maintaining standard procurement processes or supplier management frameworks.
