Description
We're seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our team in Livonia, MI. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automatic transmission calibrations that meet drivability and durability requirements. You will also design and implement customer-facing propulsion features that drive excitement for the product.
Responsibilities:
- Design automatic transmission calibrations that meet drivability and durability requirements
- Design and implement customer-facing propulsion features that drive excitement for the product
- Develop and maintain calibration DVM's and DVP&R using in-vehicle or dynamometer calibration data as appropriate
- Provide leadership to vehicle programs for the resolution of transmission calibration issues
- Assist in the development of software and control system requirements
- Support for quality investigations
- Embrace working in a team environment of calibrators working towards common approaches and best practices
- Collaborate with engineers to develop control systems and calibration approaches for future programs, including new hybrid architectures
- Perform analysis of quality data (warranty and customer satisfaction surveys) and connected vehicle information to drive quality improvements for current and future products
- Develop and monitor the use of connected data tools/dashboards to identify trends and generate quality action plans
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, or related field
- 2+ years' experience in automotive calibration
- 1+ years of experience with MS Office toolset proficiency
- Working knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and software fundamentals
- Experience using/interpreting C-based software
- Experience with automotive CAN communication networks and analysis
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally (6-8 weeks)
Even better, you may have:
- Master of Science Degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, or related field
- 4+ years' experience in automotive calibration
- 2+ years of experience with MS Office toolset proficiency
- Strong analytical, teamwork, written and oral communication, and leadership skills
- Self-starter with proven capability to work independently
- Proficient in digital data analysis and interpretation
- Proficient in delivering presentations to senior management
- Proficient with ATI/Vision & ETAS/Inca calibration tools required. No-hooks, MATLAB/Simulink experience preferred
- Proficient in the use of calibration tools, including ATI Vision and/or ETAS Inca, PTDiag, DET, MyCanic, etc.

This position is a salary grade 5 to salary grade 8. Salary can range from $63,480 to $162,120 based on experience.
