Description
The Chassis Brakes Engineer is responsible for delivery of foundation brake systems and components for Ford. This role involves designing and packaging components, ensuring overall system performance, cost, and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Leads component and system design and development, validating and signing off on key brake performance and attribute requirements.
- Manages supplier delivery and performance.
- Serves as a leader and representative of brake engineering to interfacing organisations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) required, graduate degree desirable.
- Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, and driven for results.
- Project management skills, able to manage projects and achieve objectives.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in unfamiliar situations and succeed.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CAD (Catia/Team Center).
- Experience in functional engineering, preferably in chassis or automotive-related work experience, is desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in engineering disciplines such as DVP&R, DFMEA, 8D, Process Controls, Reliability, and System Engineering Fundamentals.
- Ability to travel and support Ford Motor Company final assembly plants and supplier sites when required.
