Description
The Edge browser is a core strategic product and key entry point to Microsoft's new AI ecosystem, serving hundreds of millions of users daily. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Edge Web Platform team, you will help deliver high-quality, interoperable web experiences by shaping how modern web content is rendered, animated, and interacted with across platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve web platform features in Chromium rendering pipeline to bridge the gap between native applications and the web.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and program managers on open-source projects.
- Partner with standards and upstream communities (W3C, Chromium) to shape APIs and implementation details.
- Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine with a focus on the needs of our customers and web developers.
- Contribute directly to the Chromium project for aspects that can be shared with other Chromium-based browsers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Cross-platform development experience.
- Experience contributing to a large-scale software engineering project.
- Design, coding, and debugging skills in modern programming languages.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year.
