Staff Software Engineer, DevPlatform

Reddit is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to contribute to its innovative developer platform.

In this pivotal role, you will develop and maintain the cutting-edge backend for the developer platform, collaborating with colleagues to design and implement scalable and efficient solutions.

What You'll Be Working On

• Building a highly available, reliable, low-latency, and internet-scale platform.
• Creating and driving the Storage as a Service strategy.
• Building the technical foundation for future features and experiences.
• Fostering a collaborative and supportive team with a strong sense of ownership.

Who You Might Be

• 7+ years of industry experience in backend, infrastructure, developer tools, or app platforms.
• Technical leader with experience in large-scale projects and day-to-day troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Go, Typescript, Redis, distributed SQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience mentoring and coaching other engineers, and leading by example with strong software engineering best practices.
• Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a bias towards action in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration in a fully-remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the underlying infrastructure of the developer platform.
• Develop new features for external developers, such as SQL db as a service.
• Contribute to the entire development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mocks, and contribute to team strategy.

The base salary range for this position is: $217,000-$303,000 USD
