Description

Join us as a Process Engineer and drive efficiency, quality, and innovation on the shop floor. As a Process Engineer at Biffa, you will be responsible for leading the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve product quality
  • Using data and analytics to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive fact-based improvements
  • Applying Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to deliver continuous improvement
  • Collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to implement scalable process solutions
  • Creating and maintaining clear process documentation, SOPs, P&IDs, and tooling support for the shop floor
  • Ensuring processes meet safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Leading or supporting projects including process changes, equipment upgrades, and new installations, on time and within budget
  • Designing and modifying processes to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product quality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or other relevant discipline)
  • Full, current UK driving licence
  • Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings and principles
  • Managing process and lean improvement projects
