The mining industry has steadily become worse at finding new ore deposits, requiring over 10 times more capital to make discoveries compared to 30 years ago.
KoBold builds AI models for mineral exploration and deploys those models,alongside novel sensors,to guide decisions on KoBold-owned-and-operated exploration programs.
As a Frontend Software Engineer at KoBold, you will build intuitive and elegant user experiences to empower fellow KoBolders with backgrounds in geology, geophysics, geochemistry, and data science.
Responsibilities:
- Build intuitive and elegant user experiences
- Own and improve KoBold's existing web apps
- Collaborate with scientists to architect new tools
- Champion frontend best practices and modernize the stack
- Set up systems to automate UI testing
Qualifications:
- Experience in architecting, developing, and maintaining frontend applications
- Experience in writing production-quality code
- Skilled with data visualization libraries
- Experience with modern JavaScript tools, deployment and cloud technologies, Python web frameworks, and classic frontend development
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with geospatial data and building map-based experiences
- Familiarity with containerization and container orchestration platforms
- Experience with frontend automated-testing systems

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $160,000 - $240,000.
