Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist-Manufacturing to join our team in Louisville, KY. As an Engineering Specialist-Manufacturing, you will be responsible for managing the electrical safety program for the facility, including conducting Arc Flash and Shock Hazard studies. You will also be responsible for maintaining the plant's electrical distribution system drawings using AutoCAD software and providing electrical/controls support for the Powerhouse and waste treatment.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the electrical safety program for the facility, including conducting Arc Flash and Shock Hazard studies
- Maintaining the plant's electrical distribution system drawings using AutoCAD software
- Providing electrical/controls support for the Powerhouse and waste treatment
- Supporting the electrical aspect of all facility projects for construction & maintenance
- Running maintenance of electrical distribution system, including substation breakers, transformers, and 480V buss system/PMs, 13.8K medium voltage distribution
- Maintaining emergency power systems, including generators, lighting, and auto transfer switches
- Managing energy conservation program for the facility; conducting energy conservation team meetings, reporting on the plant's energy conservation efforts, and taking steps to achieve annual energy savings targets
- Writing annual purchase orders for facility service contracts and maintenance of the fire protection system, plant security system
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in industrial electrical power distribution systems
- Experience with industrial electrical power distribution systems
- Ability to perform electrical load calculations, demand analysis, and system capacity evaluations
- Understanding of load balancing across substations, transformers, and bus systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and maintaining electrical one-line diagrams
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of 8D problem solving and leadership behaviors
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with plant electrical infrastructure including substations, breakers, transformers, 480V distribution systems, and 13.8K medium voltage distribution
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Active Kentucky Master Electrician License or Professional Engineer (Electrical) License
- Experience conducting Arc Flash and Coordination Studies
- Experience performing electrical load studies, system modeling, and capacity planning for facility expansions or new equipment integration
- Experience with utility coordination and long-range power demand forecasting
- Experience in automotive or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
- Energy management or sustainability program leadership experience
This position offers a competitive salary range of $63,480-$106,680, depending on experience.
