Job Description

As a Purchasing Manager – JIT Seats at Ford Motor Company, you will play a critical role in sourcing the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You will lead a team of buyers responsible for developing and executing comprehensive purchasing strategies for categories, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and financial targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies for categories, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and financial targets.
  • Actively manage supplier relationships, cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with key strategic suppliers, driving performance, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply and building resilient supplier networks.
  • Serve as a key interface and trusted advisor to MP&L as well as various internal skill teams, ensuring purchasing strategies support their objectives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, technological advancements, and evolving regulations to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead team to develop strategies that deliver cost-effective, efficient, sustainable solutions, including negotiating MSAs, with SOWs, Service-Level-Agreements, KPI metrics, and supplier governance processes to deliver consistently high-quality services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, Logistics or other related field of study.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
  • Strong analytical skills – understanding of cost drivers and cost modeling.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong business acumen, team building, collaboration, and communication skills – demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
