Engineering Manager, Research Data Platform

Job Overview

As the Engineering Manager of the Research Data Platform team at Anthropic, you will lead the development of systems that enable researchers to easily produce, find, query, and trust data. This role involves working closely with researchers and engineers to understand their needs, setting technical direction for the team, and driving the creation of canonical datasets.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to identify opportunities for improvement and shape the team's priorities
• Set technical direction for the team across platform and datasets
• Design and build platform components, such as libraries, services, and interfaces
• Own core datasets end-to-end, including pipelines, schemas, and documentation
• Drive convergence towards canonical datasets that research teams can standardize on
• Lead complex projects that span multiple systems and teams
• Raise the team's technical bar through design reviews, mentorship, and personal work

Logistics

• Annual salary: $405,000 - $850,000 USD
• Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY
• Hybrid policy: 25% office time
