Staff+ Software Engineer, Enterprise

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Staff+ Software Engineer to anchor its Enterprise pillar, making Claude enterprise-ready at scale. The ideal candidate will design and implement systems that enable large-scale distribution of Claude, support governance and connectivity, and interface with executives from Fortune 500 companies.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-year technical strategy, including distributability and multi-cloud strategy
• Identify and lead high-complexity, high-impact engineering initiatives
• Serve as a primary technical decision-maker for major architectural decisions
• Partner with teams like Inference, Platform, Customer Success, Infrastructure, and Safeguards
• Mentor and develop Staff-level engineers
• Drive alignment across Product, GTM, Customer Success, and beyond

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience at Staff or Senior Staff level
• Track record of shaping technical strategy for large-scale Cloud Service Provider or Enterprise SaaS companies
• Expertise in distributed systems, API architecture, and enterprise areas like security, identity, and compliance
• Strong domain expertise and intuition in enterprise areas
• Effective across org boundaries, building trust with various stakeholders

• Annual salary: $405,000 - $485,000 USD
