Description
As Ford Motor Company accelerates its transformation into a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping the future of propulsion systems. Lead the end-to-end global sourcing and supply chain strategy for critical EV components, including power electronics and eDrive systems such as inverters, onboard chargers, DC/DC converters, electric motors, and integrated drive units.
Drive a resilient, cost-competitive, and sustainable supply base aligned with measured electrification goals while leading a high-performing global team, ensuring supply continuity, and building strategic supplier partnerships that deliver long-term value.
Responsibilities
- Lead global sourcing execution across key commodities with high level of organisational visibility, ensuring alignment between engineering, manufacturing, finance, and quality to deliver cost, quality, and timing objectives.
- Operating in a highly matrixed global environment, you will influence decisions, resolve complex supply issues, implement rigorous rhythm of business practices, and drive performance through data-driven insights, structured communication, and strong supplier engagement.
What you'll do...
- Lead global sourcing strategy and execution for Power Electronics and eDrive commodities supporting electric vehicle (EV) and electrified propulsion systems, ensuring alignment with program cost, timing, capacity, and technical requirements.
- Own supplier selection and commercial execution, including RFIs/RFQs, negotiations, and contracting, with accountability for cost, capacity, and performance outcomes.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Quality to align sourcing strategies with product design, BOM, and manufacturability, embedding design-for-supply-chain principles.
- Lead and develop a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and data-driven decision-making across distributed regions.
- Develop and execute commodity and sub-tier strategies, including Tier 1 suppliers and semiconductor ecosystems (e.g., SiC, IGBTs), to support EV technology requirements, secure capacity, and ensure long-term alignment.
- Drive supply chain resilience, proactively mitigating risks related to geopolitical factors, capacity constraints, and sub-tier dependencies while leading contingency planning.
- Deliver cost and value optimisation through should-cost analysis, benchmarking, value engineering, and negotiations to support design-to-cost and localisation initiatives.
- Manage supplier performance and sustainability, driving results across cost, quality, delivery, and capacity while supporting responsible sourcing and regulatory compliance.
You'll Have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within automotive, manufacturing, or related industries
- 7+ years of experience in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and commercial execution in technical environments
- 7+ years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering and suppliers, and influencing global stakeholders to drive sourcing strategy and program execution
- Strong experience managing sourcing activities in complex, matrixed environments with a focus on cost, quality, delivery, and supply chain risk mitigation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including structured storytelling and data-driven decision-making
Even better if you have...
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business)
- Experience managing complex or technical commodities
- Experience working with global supply bases across North America, Europe, and Asia
- Experience with SAP, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytics tools
- Experience with power electronics, semiconductors (e.g., SiC, IGBTs), or EV-related supply chains, including sub-tier supplier engagement
