Description
At Bayer, we're seeking a Senior Engineer PCT IT Network to join our team in Berkeley, CA. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing secure and highly available compute platforms, servers, and networks. Your tasks will include maintaining and performing lifecycle management of Berkeley OT infrastructure networks, implementing global solutions, and ensuring the production network is maintained in a GxP-qualified state. You will also collaborate with IT business service partners on routine reviews of server room access and maintenance, and contribute to global production IT security teams on solutions and strategies for IT security challenges.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on IT networks design and implementation. You should have strong experience maintaining and running IT systems, including IT security, patching, and switch configuration/setup. Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs) and hands-on experience with network security concepts (segmentation, firewalls, VPNs) is also required.
In addition to your technical expertise, you should have good planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. You will also need to be able to work effectively with subordinates, peers, and senior management, building trust and alignment across functions.
As a Senior Engineer PCT IT Network, you will be expected to demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to apply multiple skill sets effectively. You will also be responsible for supporting IT audits and driving remediation activities as needed, and deploying and managing OT security technologies, such as network monitoring and anomaly detection platforms.
