Description
We're seeking a Powertrain OBD Calibration Engineer to join our Vehicle Powertrain Systems Engineering (VPSE) team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for supporting the powertrain OBD calibration for diesel applications. Your work will involve evaluating and assessing vehicle attributes, conducting vehicle testing and development at remote locations, and collaborating with software algorithm suppliers to evaluate new OBD monitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Calibrating and signing off OBD monitor features for future model year diesel programs
- Using models and simulation to reduce testing and optimize powertrain calibrations
- Evaluating and assessing vehicle attributes (diagnostics, performance, emissions, NVH) on vehicles and in engine dynamometer test cells
- Modifying vehicle and powertrain control calibrations to improve performance, emissions, and diagnostics
- Documenting progress and methods used to calibrate and validate diagnostic monitors within responsibility
In addition to your technical expertise, you'll need to be able to interface with software algorithm suppliers (internal and external) to evaluate new OBD monitors prior to sign-off. This role requires travel to remote development locations for vehicle testing.
If you're a motivated and detail-oriented engineer with a passion for powertrain calibration, we encourage you to apply!
