Description
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Santa Monica. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Assistant Controller to drive the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of internal monthly financial statements.
- Review and oversee intercompany balances.
- Analyze revenue and expense accounts to ensure accuracy and work with the FP&A team and other departments to understand and explain variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts.
- Liaise with foreign subsidiaries to complete global analyses and resolve any issues identified.
- Assist with external and internal audits and preparation of tax returns by compiling required documentation and preparing various schedules and support.
- Help in determining proper internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Drive process improvements by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing solutions, including system automation.
- Work with accounting management to administer the company’s travel and expense program.
- Research, resolve, and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist in special ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- 4+ years related experience in accounting or finance; public accounting or public company experience strongly preferred.
- CPA or equivalent license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel applications and formulas.
- Basic understanding of accounting systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced accounting environment with flexibility to take on new duties as needed amidst changing priorities.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent.

The compensation offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The OTE Pay Range for this position is $95,000-$110,000 USD.
