Description

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Santa Monica. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Assistant Controller to drive the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal monthly financial statements.
  • Review and oversee intercompany balances.
  • Analyze revenue and expense accounts to ensure accuracy and work with the FP&A team and other departments to understand and explain variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts.
  • Liaise with foreign subsidiaries to complete global analyses and resolve any issues identified.
  • Assist with external and internal audits and preparation of tax returns by compiling required documentation and preparing various schedules and support.
  • Help in determining proper internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Drive process improvements by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing solutions, including system automation.
  • Work with accounting management to administer the company’s travel and expense program.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assist in special ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years related experience in accounting or finance; public accounting or public company experience strongly preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel applications and formulas.
  • Basic understanding of accounting systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced accounting environment with flexibility to take on new duties as needed amidst changing priorities.
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent.

The compensation offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The OTE Pay Range for this position is $95,000-$110,000 USD.
