As part of our Manufacturing team at Ford Motor Company, you'll help build state-of-the-art smart vehicles.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for comprehensive quality management within a plant, encompassing leadership on quality initiatives, oversight of pre-delivery and finished vehicle operations, and robust supplier quality assurance.

What you'll do...

  • Participate in the Plant Operating Committee and keep them informed about quality issues.
  • Develop and mentor plant personnel on the Quality Operating System (QOS), coaching and training on the use of standard quality tools.
  • Champion and deliver the plant Policy Deployment Process for Quality.
  • Manage all pre-delivery operations.
  • Manage finished vehicle inspection processes and coordinate ongoing review and updates of measurement systems and mandatory process requirements based on customer feedback.
  • Manage the finished vehicle inventory within plant objectives.
  • Champion the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly quality cadence for the plant.
  • Manage department direct and indirect manning.
  • Develop and maintain an effective quality communication process.
  • Ensure government regulations, safety, and inspection audits are conducted and reported.
  • Champion incoming quality activities and QR2 system utilization.
  • Support VRTs with supplier quality concerns and IQ support.
  • Coordinate real-time supplier quality concern feedback to production departments.
  • Coordinate supplier quality requirements for on-site modifications.
  • Coordinate IQ concerns found in V.O. and Plant FCPA audits.
  • Co-chair monthly incoming quality meetings.
  • Oversee the layout of parts for production personnel, PVT engineers, and VRT members.
  • Provide IQ support to contain suspect component concerns.
  • Coordinate all processing of defective materials with the plant MP&L organization.
  • Work with plant personnel to initiate containment and corrective actions.
  • Oversee the review of supplier 8D's and the acceptance or rejection based on content.
  • Develop and maintain the supplier sign-in reporting system.
  • Publish incoming quality data.
  • Provide feedback to appropriate departments on supplier quality concerns.
  • Provide weekly updates on delinquent suppliers to purchasing, STA, and plant management.
  • Manage the reimbursement of plant expenses due to supplier quality concerns.
  • Lead quality activities for new model launches.
  • Manage the stability of the base QOS during periods of launch and change.
  • Manage campaign prevention process results and ensure containments are in place.
  • Oversee pre-delivery and finished vehicle audits.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience managing quality operating systems.
  • 8+ years of experience managing and supervising teams.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • Strong statistical background.
  • Strong background in collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Experience with 8D, 5Why, Three-Legged 5Why, and other lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience working in Hoshin Kanri, strategic planning, and near-term and future planning.
  • Working knowledge of Data Cubes/Common Metrics, AWS, BSAQ, ECB, GQRS, QLS, AVS, and DPR.
