Description

Honda is seeking a Production Support Staff II - Assembly to join their team in Timmonsville, South Carolina. The successful candidate will use their knowledge of manufacturing processes to develop work instructions for safe and efficient processes and workflows to support the assembly of Honda Power Sports equipment.

Job Purpose Using knowledge of manufacturing process, develop work instructions for safe and efficient processes and workflows to support the assembly of Honda Power Sports equipment including using analytical tools and hands on expertise to maximize production line efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

  • Use MOST to develop balanced processes across manufacturing area. Work to achieve high process efficiency. Apply lean manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Manufacturing) targets.
  • Audit existing processes to confirm accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste within process to improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
  • Support New Model events. Forecast design impact to department. Incorporate change points into process design. Identify concerns and countermeasures before mass production.
  • Conduct studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations, workflow and recommend methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
  • Train the Trainer activity to convey process change points and updates to New Model and Department trainers.
  • Collect and evaluate associate input and feedback to improve manufacturing capability and efficiency. This also includes incorporating new manufacturing methods or processes to improve existing operations.
  • Read and understand parts drawings, Specification updates, and 3D Catia data to forecast design change impact to department and incorporate change points into process design.
  • Evaluate and implement ergonomic and safety countermeasures to prevent associate injury and improve process safety rank.
  • Assist in the development of New Tools, Jigs & Fixtures related to process needs
  • Project support for all items impacting assembly departments associate process.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • High School Diploma
  • 0-6 years of experience
  • Strong communication skills: Verbal and Written
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Communicating changes to others.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Process Data Development and Analysis (PDDA). Process engineering (MOST) part numbers, BOM (Build of material), and applications. Assembly (AF) quality control systems and specification systems and workflows. Assembly (AF) department layout and equipment.
  • Skill in Analytical problem solving and decision making, communicating change to others, root cause analysis, collaboration with others, and self driven.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able and willing to work flexible hours and weekends on short notice.
  • Must be available for occasional travel (Domestic and International)
  • Occasional overtime may be required without advance notice.
