Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Level Artist to join our team in Annecy, France on a full-time permanent contract.

As a Lead Level Artist, you will be responsible for the quality, consistency, and artistic execution of environments produced by the World team. Reporting to the World Lead, you will organise, support, and develop the Level Art team to transform the artistic, technical, and gameplay vision into readable, credible, and technically mastered environments.

You will work closely with the Lead Level Design to ensure perfect coherence between design intentions, gameplay experience, and visual realisation. You will also collaborate daily with the Technical Direction to integrate technical constraints, production tools, and methods to guarantee efficient and sustainable production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Level Art team, organising work and defining production priorities
  • Support, develop, and provide regular feedback to artists
  • Ensure a team culture based on autonomy, responsibility, and knowledge sharing
  • Identify production risks and propose adapted solutions
  • Collaborate with the World Lead, Lead Level Design, and Technical Direction to align quality, priorities, and production capacity
  • Define quality standards, production conventions, and best practices for the World team
  • Represent Level Art issues to the Artistic Direction, Technical Direction, Game Direction, and Production

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing an artistic team in AAA production
  • Strong expertise in creating environments for video games
  • Excellent understanding of composition, materials, colour, volume, and environmental storytelling
  • Ability to work daily with Design, Technical, and Production profiles
  • Good knowledge of disciplines contributing to World construction (architecture, geography, geology, urbanism, landscape, etc.)
  • Strong creativity and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in English
