Contingent Materials Engineer

We are seeking a Contingent Materials Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Santa Clarita, California.

The purpose of this role is to identify and provide material specifications for component manufacturing and analyze parts for failure diagnosis in support of high-performance engineering projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and updating raw material specifications
• Providing manufacturing support and resolving problems
• Identifying materials and process needs
• Generating data required for design, analysis, and qualification of advanced materials and processes
• Performing laboratory analysis on engine components
• Preparing metallurgical samples for failure analysis investigations
• Maintaining laboratory and analytical equipment
• Conducting microscopic and macroscopic examinations

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of Materials Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with internal combustion race engines and related electronic and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and standard codes
• Knowledge of material specifications and testing procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to follow safety practices and recognize hazards

We offer a salary range of $100,000.00 - $120,000.00.
