In this position, you will lead transformation on the forefront. This isn't just a supervisory role; it's a critical leadership position where you'll have the power to shape culture, drive performance, and directly impact the quality and efficiency of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work.
- Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives.
- Monitor ANDON occurrences. Be the first responder as secondary support.
- Through Process Confirmation, verify that the paint automation tenders are performing their assigned tasks.
- Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level.
- Communication and Recognition.
- Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets.
- Build Team Leader and Team Member capability.
- Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.
- Assist with paint launch activities (new equipment, body styles, etc.).
- Coaching, training, and teaching skilled trades on automation equipment / process.
- Automation Tender scheduling (vacation coverage, training & time keeping records).
- Shift letter documentation / downtime reports / environmental requirements.
- Attend quality, productivity, and other related meetings.
- Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documentation.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Assign work to unionized hourly workforce and hold employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput.
- Interact with Vendors for equipment support / part ordering.
- Display strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Display strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Work any shift, as well as rotate shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Basic work schedule is a 7on/7off, 12-hour shift.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- 5+ years’ paint experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office.
- Automotive paint shop experience.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of constraint management principles.
- Fanuc Robot operation and programming experience.
- Extensive Fanuc P1000 and P250 robot experience.
- PLC / Control logic knowledge.
Even better, you'll have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Safety and Quality experience preferred.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviours combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.
- Fanuc P1000 and P250 robot experience.
- Waterborne fluid delivery system (canister) experience.
- Program new body style changes in all automation zones.
