CS Learning Designer

Brilliant is creating a world of better problem solvers by delivering interactive, adaptive, and fun learning at scale.

The CS Learning Designer role involves designing interactive learning games to teach programming and algorithmic thinking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science education and experience with Python.

Responsibilities:

• Develop hands-on programming courses to teach CS concepts using Brilliant's Python learning game.
• Design new learning games , visual, puzzle-driven experiences that teach foundational principles in algorithms, data structures, and computational thinking.
• Decompose complex computer science ideas into approachable, well-sequenced steps that empower learners to reason from first principles.
• Design content that is clear, creative, and intuitive , using interactivity to help learners build confidence and mastery.
• Build immersive, interactive learning experiences that guide learners along problem-solving journeys.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to imagine and create new interactive features, visuals, and mechanics that elevate the learning experience on both computers and phones.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree or above in a STEM field.
• Strong grounding in computer science through research or teaching that extends beyond traditional curricula.
• Experience with AI agents for coding and a clear understanding of core concepts to teach in agentic coding.
• Ability to teach complex topics using clear, simple, hands-on steps.
• Experience with building or using interactivity to motivate, engage, and challenge learners.
• Excellent writing skills in English.
• Ability to context switch and prioritize among a large workload.
• Openness to change and a willingness to experiment with formats and platforms.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: USD 110,000-180,000 per year.
