Description
Gusto is hiring a Senior Manager to lead its Group Fulfillment operation within Benefits Services. This senior people-leader role involves leading a team of managers and individual contributors, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of benefits for small businesses.
You'll set operational objectives, develop and execute policies, manage capacity planning, and drive outcomes that impact Gusto's customers. You'll lead through your leaders, coaching them to own their teams and drive change.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading 3-5 managers and ~40 specialists
- Coaching leaders to operate as drivers, not passengers
- Developing leaders through structured calibration and performance reviews
- Setting and owning operational objectives, policies, and work plans for Group Fulfillment
- Delivering against timeliness, accuracy, and completeness standards
- Managing cross-functional dependencies with various teams and carrier partners
- Setting the AI vision and owning the automation roadmap for Group Fulfillment
- Coaching AI fluency through your leaders
Requirements:
- 5+ years of leadership experience, including 2 years leading other leaders
- Demonstrated track record of setting operational strategy and being accountable for business-segment impact
- Experience driving meaningful org change and bringing teams along through it
- Driver mindset with ability to own the rationale behind change and make decisions decisively
- Operational rigor with comfort reading dashboards and interrogating data
- AI fluency at the leader level with experience using AI to redesign workflows
- Coaching and development depth with ability to develop leaders through structured coaching
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in benefits operations, health insurance brokerage, or employee benefits administration
- Experience with carrier portals, Salesforce, and high-volume operational tooling
The cash compensation amount for this role is $119,185/yr to $154,940/yr in Denver & most major metro locations.
