Description
As a Senior Manager, Solution Engineering at Okta, you will hire, coach, and inspire a high-performing team of Solution Engineers, driving career development, performance management, and continuous skill enablement.
You will support and coach your SEs as they partner with Account Executives to discover customer pain points, develop opportunities, and secure the technical win.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering directly with senior customer technical leaders on strategic opportunities to articulate Okta’s platform value and secure technical buying decisions.
- Building deep relationships with key partner technical sales leaders to establish Okta as their preferred identity security standard.
- Partnering with aligned Area Sales Directors to design, execute, and scale Go-To-Market strategies that consistently exceed regional booking targets.
- Aligning with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and peer SE managers to share best practices, track market trends, and support organisational scaling.
- Presenting on key Identity & Access Management (IAM) and cybersecurity topics at Okta events and industry conferences.
- Collaborating with HR, Finance, and Operations on workforce planning, budget alignment, and talent acquisition strategies.
- Serving as an ambassador between the field and headquarters, funneling critical customer feedback and product requirements directly to Okta's Product and Engineering teams.
We are looking for demonstrable experience in:
- Managing and scaling high-performing Solution or Sales Engineering teams.
- Attracting, recruiting, and onboarding top-tier technical sales talent in a high-growth environment.
- Blending technical excellence with strong business acumen and value-selling methodologies to achieve and exceed business targets.
- Establishing and maintaining trust-based relationships with key technical stakeholders at both customer and partner organisations.
- Developing and maintaining deep hands-on technical expertise, with the ability to confidently lead architectural discussions across a complex, highly technical product portfolio.
Nice to have:
- Strong technical skills gained in the security or identity space (e.g., Workforce Identity, CIAM, PAM, ISPM, Federation/SSO, Active Directory, LDAP, or modern API-first security).
- A strong understanding of competitor product offerings in the IAM, IGA, and cybersecurity markets.
