Description
The Senior Procurement Engineer (Sr Procurement Engineer) drives strategic supply network development and cost management of Anduril's product hardware across their lifecycles. This involves collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct supplier selection for specific products using the approved supplier list.
- Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through activities like concept scoping, feature trade-off tables, should-cost models, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs.
- Develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp up production internally and with suppliers.
- Manage CAPEX during NPI.
- Perform value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
- Complete BOM risk assessments, including alternate component sourcing.
- Ensure all component qualifications are completed before production.
- Reduce complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization.
- Lead cost engineering activities to minimize total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle.
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs and cost inflation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
- Expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Willingness to relocate to Morrisville, NC, if not already local.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or advanced technical degree.
- Experience in design and development of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
- Background in advanced sourcing activities, including commodity/sourcing management.
- Familiarity with supplier development, early supplier engagement, and high-tech product development in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment, preferably in energetics and solid rocket motor (SRM) production.
