Description

The HAL - Beverage Manager directs the daily operation of vessel's Beverage Operations, including administration, supervision, and execution of programs consistent with company standards and goals. The goal is to provide excellent service while maximizing revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs the activities of beverage service personnel, including Asst Beverage Manager, Cellar Master, Head Bartenders, Bartenders, Beverage Attendants, GPA Bars, and Wine Attendants.
  • Ensures implementation and execution of corporate policies and procedures within the Beverage Department.
  • Controls, measures, and reports Bar Sales Outlet performance daily and takes corrective action to ensure operations meet company standards and objectives.
  • Achieves or exceeds Bar Revenue and Cost objectives for established cruise program targets.
  • Develops and recommends merchandising and promotional programs to maximize Bar Revenue and Service objectives.
  • Implements inventory and audit procedures for beverage facilities.
  • Works closely with the Controller and Provision Master on inventory taking, cost control, loading, ordering, and storing.
  • Ensures beverage facilities are maintained at company standards and meet or exceed USPH requirements.
  • Directs and coordinates the assignment, training, and scheduling of beverage service personnel.
  • Plans and schedules private and company functions.
  • Ensures correct pouring quantities, recipes, and standards are followed.
  • Assists on projects assigned by the Hotel General Manager or Corporate Office.
  • Maintains vessel records and forms as prescribed by company policies.
  • Is responsible for the efficient running of the crew bars.
  • Monitors grooming and personal hygiene of beverage crew members.
  • Is responsible for the overall training of the beverage team.
  • Provides periodic feedback on beverage crew members and evaluates performance.
  • Counsels non-performers and disciplines in accordance with company policy.
  • Actively participates in safety and accident prevention programs.

  • Demonstrates strong financial responsibility.
  • Ability to lead teams in a positive and productive manner.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management (preferred) or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in managing a food and beverage service operation.
  • Experience in managing a large multi-national bar staff.
  • Experience in Beverage Sales & Marketing.
  • Current knowledge of the US Vessel Sanitation Program (U.S.P.H.).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer software skills.
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently.
