Description

As the automotive industry transitions towards the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), the demands on vehicle system development continue to grow. Braking systems are evolving into highly complex mechatronic systems that seamlessly integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components.

AVL is looking for a System Development Engineer Braking Systems who will take ownership of system-level development activities in challenging projects for leading automotive OEMs.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain the system architecture of braking systems, including electrical/electronic, mechanical, and software components
  • Develop and align system concepts and interfaces
  • Define, manage, and trace system requirements throughout the entire development lifecycle
  • Coordinate subsystem development, suppliers, and internal engineering teams
  • Ensure seamless integration of braking systems into the overall vehicle architecture
  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities
  • Ensure compliance with functional safety standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements

Profile:

  • Completed education (university, technical college, or equivalent) in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or electrical engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in system-level development of braking systems
  • Strong understanding of mechatronic systems and vehicle dynamics
  • Experience in technical coordination, project leadership, or systems engineering and architecture development
  • Good knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, and the V-Model development process
  • Structured and analytical approach to solving complex engineering challenges, combined with a strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in an international environment
  • Very good knowledge of English; knowledge of German is an advantage

Annual Remuneration: The annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position is €60,970.00.
