At Bayer, we're seeking a skilled Sr Plant PCS Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, CA. As a key member of our Engineering & Technology department, you will be responsible for planning, execution, coordination, and monitoring of activities in support of Process Control Systems across the Berkeley site. Your primary responsibilities will include executing PCS projects and activities to support Berkeley Supply Center goals, responding to PCS issues in support of plant operations, performing PCS problem report investigations, troubleshooting, and break-fix modifications, developing formal scopes of work for PCS programming activities, and providing PCS system and application training to Operations and Plant Engineering personnel.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field from an accredited college or university, along with experience in industrial automation, including implementation, troubleshooting, and system support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You should also have expertise in designing, commissioning, and supporting PCS systems, preferably in a cGMP or other regulated manufacturing environment.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need to have strong project management skills, including planning, prioritization, and coordination of multiple stakeholders, knowledge of change control principles and practices in a regulated environment, and strong technical and business communication skills and effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functions such as Quality Assurance, MSAT, and Maintenance.
