The Enterprise Applications team at Databricks is transforming how the company runs its business. As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the team, you will play a critical role in delivering end-to-end applications that power the business and empower employees with assistive technologies.
You will define the technical roadmap, design critical software systems, raise the bar on engineering excellence, mentor junior engineers, and tackle challenging technical issues. You will be the technical leader for a team of software engineers.
The impact you’ll have:
- Define the technical strategy and roadmap for building in-house solutions for critical internal workflows
- Partner with product management, design, and other engineering teams to build end-to-end, AI-powered solutions
- Eliminate technical risk by solving complex development tasks or tackling technically challenging issues
- Drive team best practices for engineering excellence, including design quality, operational reviews, testing strategies, and incident management
What we look for:
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical leadership and impact
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience serving as the technical owner for software systems
- Experience designing and building end-to-end, full-stack cloud-native applications
- Customer obsession and product engineering mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical and business stakeholders
- History of raising the engineering quality bar, focus on execution and operational rigor
- Strong ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams
- Passion for the data intelligence space

Pay Range Transparency
The pay range for this role is $192,000-$260,000 USD.
