Member of Technical Staff - Applied AI Lead, Health

At Microsoft AI, our Health team aims to help millions of users better understand and manage their health and wellbeing. We're seeking an Applied AI Lead to join our engineering team, focusing on building Copilot Health.

As an Applied AI Lead, you will set the technical direction for this work in the health domain while growing and developing engineers. Your responsibilities include:

• Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of Applied AI Engineers
• Setting the technical bar through code and design reviews
• Co-owning the roadmap with product leads
• Defining the evaluation strategy for LLM capabilities in the health domain
• Architecting LLM orchestration for agentic, multi-step systems
• Running experiments to improve product results
• Investing in tooling for evaluations and data pipelines

Requirements include:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Significant Python programming experience and machine learning research
• Strong proficiency in LLM evaluations and orchestration
• Proven engineering leadership with 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams and contributing to a positive work environment

Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare technology, data engineering, and conversational AI.

The typical base pay range for this role in the United Kingdom is £93,500.00 – £161,800.00 per year.
