Description

The Industrial Hygienist position is a Ford Motor Company full-time salary position, reporting to the EHS Manager, and working with a team of Ford Safety Engineers, Environmental Engineers, and a Fire Protection Engineer. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Program for both Cell and Pack plants, supporting site-wide Toxicology and Process Safety Management, and recommending hazard controls as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the BOBM Industrial Hygiene Programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Ford Motor Company Health and Safety Standards.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive industrial hygiene risk and exposure assessments plan.
  • Manage projects performed by consultants to evaluate potential risks.
  • Partner with a 3rd-party consultant to develop, implement, and monitor the local Process Safety Management Program.
  • Interpret results of evaluations, report conclusions, and evaluate effectiveness of control measures.
  • Interface with Ford Motor Company Corporate Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Toxicology teams.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the local Toxicology process.
  • Work across all established standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Safety or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Language proficiency in English.
  • Understanding of industrial hygiene-related risks, exposure monitoring techniques, and hazard control methods.
