Buyer/Planner

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing and planning the manufacture/assembly of Dunlop products.

This person coordinates activities involved with procuring goods such as raw materials, tools, parts, supplies, and corresponds with vendors for the company ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and that they meet the high standards of quality that Dunlop Manufacturing, Inc. is known for.

Responsibilities:

• Process purchase requirements for various production materials
• Evaluate items for cost competiveness and establish and maintain cost reduction programs
• Recommend new sources and suppliers
• Negotiate blanket purchase contracts with new and existing suppliers
• Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances
• Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials
• Assist with producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands
• Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to the production team on a routine basis

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner
• High School or some college
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) ability
• Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints
• Strong interpersonal skills with a well-balanced presence
• Strong mathematical skills
• Able to work on own and within a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and MRP systems
