We are currently looking for Manager-HSSE based at Silvassa with details mentioned below.
Let me tell you about the role!
- This role will be responsible for supporting all HSSE functions in the plant.
- The role will report to the Sr. Manager - HSSE and will work closely with the other functional managers to ensure complete compliance to all HSSE standards and policies of the Company and Plant.
- The role will focus on workforce engagement on all HSSE Programs/Campaign.
What you will deliver
- Responsible for site supervision for driving compliance to all HSSE Programs.
- Will drive sustainable improvements in the HSSE function at site in line with the site HSSE targets.
- Drive the safety culture embedment through safety triangle and Near-Miss & SLPIAs at site.
- To participate, share, monitor and report embedment of learnings from RCA’s, Near Misses, SLPIAs and HIRA through effective usage of the online Traction System.
- Implement, Monitor, Report and submit returns under applicable laws like Factories Acts and Environment Acts.
- Ensure smooth operation of the ETP/STP in compliance to the regulatory requirements
- Liaison and interact with external statutory agencies and participate in statutory and compliance audits for safety function.
- Ensure that all appropriate HSE documentation and records are maintained up to date for the site.
- Ensure understanding, sharing and implementation of OMS and its elements and drive the implementation of various management systems like ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001.
- Act as Contractor Accountable Manager (CAM) for contractors and drive the contractor’s safety program.
- Drive the compliances under Working with Contractor.
- Support sustainable implementation of Control of Work (CoW).
- Identify, handle and organize various types of HSSE training for employees and contractors.
- Organize Risk Assessment and audits at the plant, recommend improvements and monitor implementation.
- Interpret and help implement all applicable legal and other requirements related with HSSE.
- Provide a strong & clear focused support to the plant ensuring that HSSE related risks are understood, assessed & reduced.
- Coach & monitor and achieve the strategic HSSE objectives and compliance with applicable HSSE policies, standards and regulations.
- Proactively address HSSE issues and effectively communicate with site personnel and contractors regarding HSSE performance, strategies, policies, standards and programs; and recognizing, sharing and adapting applicable lessons learned and best practices
- Coach, influence and reinforce positive HSSE behaviours for all employees and contractors.
- Specify applicable safety, health and loss prevention equipment design/ performance standards and requirements and facilitate implementation.
- Participate in and facilitate incident / accident investigation related to our employees, Contractors & Third parties. Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA), recommend corrective and preventive actions and monitor implementation.
- Conduct accident analysis to identify trends and recurring issues, if any and devise improvement plan
- Support the implementation & monitoring of the Driving Safety Standard (DSS)/rules/policies.
- Ensure that all procedures falling under the ownership of this role are maintained and reviewed on the agreed frequency, kept up-to-date, and changes documented and reflected in OMS ONLINE as appropriate. Communicate any changes to the procedures that may impact understanding to the affected workforce.
- Act as central point of contact for crisis & continuity management in the facility / country, ensuring response team members are appropriately trained, response plans are maintained and exercised, and all BP and legislative requirements are met for crisis and continuity management.
- Act as Plant Moc initiator, verifier, reviewer, approver and/or coordinator. Complete training on Lubricants Moc process and demonstrate competence in practicing the Moc process.
- Act as Area Authority under CoW and be the central figure in the CoW process in their designated area of responsibility. Approve weekly/daily schedule for hitheirre of responsibility, participate in work permit development, risk assessment, identifying required certificated, isolation plan for energy isolation.
- Act as issuing authority under CoW playing a key role in work-site permit handover to the performing authority and monitoring execution of work, ensuring it is within the scope of work permit and is performed safely.
- Act as Isolating Authority for both electrical & process isolating authority under CoW.
- Act as performer and reviewer for closure of statutory tasks as assigned under the online compliance monitoring system (Legatrix System). Ensure compliance of all applicable statutory obligations in the impact area.
What will make you successful
Education
Bachelors in any Engineering is essential, Post graduation in HSE from renowned Institute (IIM Mumbai, DDPU, UPES, RLI) will be preferred.
Experience
6-8 years of progressive experience in the HSE field from FMCG, Chemicals, Automobiles or Oil and Gas Sector.

Internal: Plant Manager, Site Leadership Team, India HSE Team
External: Government authorities, HSE Vendors etc.
