AI Platform builds and operates the LLM and agent infrastructure every team at Coinbase builds on, and ships high impact AI agents on top of it. We are the company's single path to LLMs and the substrate for the full agent lifecycle: build, deploy, run, observe, improve.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the LLM Gateway, a single API for 60+ models across all major providers
- Build and operate the AI Hub, a single front door for agents, skills, MCP servers, knowledge bases, models, memories, and keys
- Design and implement the Agent and MCP runtime, including microVM sandboxes and governed MCP gateways
- Create and manage Knowledge Bases, connecting any data source and providing queryable interfaces
- Develop and maintain the AI Spend Hub, providing FinOps for AI and spend attribution and governance
- Implement evaluation and observability tools, including in-house LLM judges and tracing and eval tooling
- Collaborate with teams to build production agents and apply traditional ML where necessary
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading multi-quarter, high-impact initiatives
- Strong technical skills in areas such as LLM development, agent infrastructure, and AI governance
- Ability to partner across engineering, security, legal, finance, and product teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
