U.S. Federal Government Relations Director

Stripe is seeking a U.S. Federal Government Relations Director to join its Government Relations & Public Affairs team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and advocating for initiatives that increase the GDP of the Internet.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, pursue, and execute policy objectives as part of Stripe's global policy priorities
• Lead and execute federal legislative advocacy, managing Stripe's engagement with Congress on key legislative priorities
• Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress, committee staff, and federal regulators
• Engage with federal regulatory agencies to educate them about Stripe's business and advocate for sound policy outcomes
• Plan, develop, and execute policy initiatives and campaigns that advance Stripe's policy goals
• Help colleagues across Stripe understand federal legislative and regulatory developments
• Represent Stripe on trade groups, coalitions, and industry bodies engaged on federal policy issues

Requirements:

• At least 8+ years of experience in a policymaking, government, or senior advocacy role
• Background working for a Member of Congress, a committee or leadership office, or in a senior policy role at the US Treasury, OCC, FDIC, White House, or comparable federal institution
• Deep expertise in financial services regulation and payments policy
• Familiarity with emerging technology policy, including artificial intelligence and agentic commerce
• Strong relationships with policymakers and staff on both sides of the aisle
• Proven track record of managing complex, technical policy issues
• Excellent judgment and communication skills
