Description

Synopsys software engineers are key enablers in the world of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), developing and maintaining software used in chip design, verification and manufacturing. They work on assignments like designing, developing, and troubleshooting software, leveraging the state-of-the-art technologies like AI/ML, GenAI and Cloud. Their critical contributions enable world-wide EDA designers to extend the frontiers of semiconductors and chip development.

We are seeking an experienced software engineer with a track record of applying Generative AI and agentic systems to real-world enterprise problems. This role suits someone who combines an innovative mindset with a practical, disciplined approach to delivering production-ready solutions at scale.

You will write clean, modular, and well-tested Python code, and have experience using agentic frameworks. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms is expected, along with an understanding of deploying and operating applications in production environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

Architect and develop GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI applications for EDA products Design and deploy AI copilots and multi-step agent workflow Integrate and experiment with LLMs including OpenAI, Claude, Amazon Bedrock, and LLaMA Implement MCP-based context sharing and agent-to-agent integrations Develop and maintain APIs and microservices for secure and scalable integration Implement CI/CD pipelines and productization practices Establish observability and evaluation frameworks including logging, tracing, prompt tracking, and quality metrics

The impact you will have includes accelerating digital transformation by embedding AI into Design and Verification EDA products, enabling productivity gains for chip designers and verification engineers through AI copilots, establishing technical patterns and architectural standards for GenAI applications across product lines, improving system reliability through observability and evaluation frameworks, contributing to Synopsys's competitive position by delivering AI capabilities at scale, and shaping how the next generation of semiconductor design tools are built.

Requirements include 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on AI/ML applications, a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, strong proficiency in Python with solid coding discipline, experience with agentic frameworks, understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and production deployment, familiarity with microservices and modern architectural patterns, and expertise in GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI systems leveraging LLMs is a plus, and UI development experience with Angular or React is a plus.
