Description
We are seeking a highly competent Global Operations Associate to join our European operations team and support the expansion of Flexport in France.
You will spend the first 4-6 months integrated into our EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam to master Flexport's operational processes, systems, and software, while contributing to our growth in France through impeccable operational quality and top-notch customer service.
As a Global Operations Associate, you will be responsible for setting up and executing end-to-end shipment movements within a regional network. On a daily basis, you will coordinate multimodal operations in your region, ensuring a first-class customer experience by guaranteeing quality and punctuality performance.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest level of quality for Flexport shipments: guarantee timely movements and handle exceptions properly
- Support your team in handling escalations of medium to high importance, complex movements, delicate communication, and other tactical touchpoints
- Help the team lead in supervising the team to improve and deliver excellent performance, particularly in terms of data quality and shipment milestone timeliness
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and participate in creating scalable operational infrastructure and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity for clients
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and implement necessary actions
- Represent Flexport's value proposition by leading commercial implementation and shipment execution for new clients and opportunities
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external escalations, resolving client issues quickly and ensuring smooth operations
- Always act in the best interest of the company, avoiding financial losses and adopting a cost-conscious behavior
Requirements:
- A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience as an international freight agent, logistics/supply chain, and/or maritime freight operations in France
- Knowledge and understanding of port/terminal software systems (e.g., Ci5 by SOGET, AP+ by MGI, CargoWise)
- Proficiency in English and French (other European languages are a plus)
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and thrive in a dynamic environment
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Practical approach, process-oriented, structured thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
