Test Technician II

AVL Test Systems Inc. is seeking a Test Technician II to support a customer in Raymond, OH. The successful candidate will participate in daily activities, including setting up, operating, and tearing down experimental engines and other drivetrain components in an engine dynamometer test cell or test environment.

The Test Technician II will install instrumentation on engines, perform dynamometer tests, and support other lab operations activities such as calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and tear down experimental engines and drivetrain components
• Install instrumentation on engines and perform dynamometer tests
• Troubleshoot problems with test equipment
• Diagnose and conduct routine maintenance and repair on equipment
• Fabricate equipment and testing apparatus components
• Use PC to generate reports and store/retrieve data
• Engage in safe work practices and advise supervisor on improvements
• Maintain a clean, professional, and organized work environment
• Communicate test status and results with internal and external customers

Qualifications/Skills:

• Associate degree or equivalent training
• 3-5+ years of experience in a related field
• Reliable personal vehicle for local/regional travel
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to read and follow schematics, equipment manuals, and blueprints
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good housekeeping and organization skills
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of standard concepts, practices, and equipment associated with dynamometer lab testing
