Position Overview:

Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is seeking an Automotive Paint Technician Trainer who will utilize their knowledge, experience and skill set in the automotive paint industry to train others in full cycle paint process, which includes part preparation, sanding, masking, graphics application, painting and polishing of carbon fiber, metal and plastic body panels to be used on new vehicles.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for anyone who is detail oriented, has strong communication and organizational skills, is great at coaching and mentoring and is passionate about automotive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Training and Mentoring: Leads and mentors a team of trainee painters and prep technicians, providing on-the-job training, guidance on best practices, and instruction on established techniques and safety protocols.
  • Quality Control & Process Development: Continue to develop and implement painting processes to enhance efficiency and quality, conducting regular inspections of completed work, and providing constructive feedback to ensure adherence to high craftsmanship standards and manufacturer specifications. Responsible for maintaining and developing the training matrix and work instructions.
  • Advanced Paint Application: The ability to execute paint repairs and custom finishes with autonomy, including applying sealers, primers, basecoats, clearcoats, and specialty coatings like metallic or pearlescent finishes.
  • Surface Preparation: The ability to perform all aspects of surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and removing imperfections to ensure optimal paint adhesion and a flawless finish.
  • Follow all established safety procedures
  • Adhering to Multimatic’s quality-focused attitude and work culture

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional automotive painting experience, with supervisory experience
  • Expertise in various paint systems (waterborne, solvent-based), spray gun operation, troubleshooting application issues
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills are crucial for managing a team and workflow efficiently.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment and providing/receiving constructive feedback
  • Must be organized and adhere to deadlines

This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be:

$22.80 - $41.83
