We are seeking a Director, Strategy and Enterprise Analytics to lead our FBS (Ford Business Solutions) team in Chennai. This role sits within the Strategy & Enterprise Analytics (SEA) organization. You will lead a multi-skill team of data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers to develop innovative, cloud-native AI and analytics solutions. Your team provides decision support for critical pillars including Electrification, Regulatory Compliance, and Legal Services.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Management & Business Understanding: Fall in love with the problems your business partners are trying to solve; develop a deep understanding of Electrification, Legal, and Regulatory domains. Ideate and co-create how Data/AI/Analytics can further enable the business to solve complex problems. Ensure deep integration with business teams, maintaining leadership visibility and alignment. Coordinate with key technology colleagues to ensure re-use of solutions and clear dependency management to minimize duplication.
- Direction, Prioritization & Strategic Vision: Translate LL4+ product and technical vision for the Chennai SEA hub. Ensure all products in your portfolio have quantifiable impact estimates and meet "Driving Impact" threshold criteria; quickly pivot away from features that do not meet these criteria. High-grade your product portfolio and prioritize initiatives across your teams
- People & Culture: Drive culture change and advocate for Ford+ behaviours within the Chennai organization. Provide oversight for people coaching and management of your team, focusing on technical, leadership, and soft skills. Lead career development conversations, 1:1s, and central HR processes (Succession planning, mid-year/end-year reviews).
- Delivery, Operations & Governance: Drive daily and monthly operational execution, including budget/finances, headcount management, and AOP (Annual Operating Plan) alignment. Regularly review and support the "Top 5 Deliverables" for your area. Lead global, distributed teams, fostering collaboration across time zones and cultures to drive business impact. Effectively use documentation and governance best practices to accelerate problem-solving and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 10+ years of experience in analytics or AI domain.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role, preferably managing managers or large technical teams.
- 5+ years of domain experience delivering analytics solutions in Sustainability, Regulatory, Electrification, or Legal sectors.
- Proven experience with Agile & Product Driven Operating Models.
- Demonstrated performance in developing and deploying analytical models within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong proficiency in big data technology and programming.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex technical insights to cross-functional executive leadership.

- PhD in Data Science, AI, Statistics, or Engineering.
- Deep expertise in NLP, Deep Learning, and Transformer architecture AI or GenAI.
- Specific experience in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) strategy or Grid Services.
- Experience with optimization tools like CPLEX and visualization platforms like Power BI.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with global resources under short response times.
