Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our backend engineering team in India. As one of the first Engineering Managers in the Software Engineering team at Databricks India, you will work with your team to build infrastructure and products for the Databricks platform at scale.
The team is responsible for building resource management infrastructure, developing reliable and scalable services and client libraries, and building tools to allow Databricks engineers to operate their services across different clouds and environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hiring great engineers to build an outstanding team
- Supporting engineers in their career development by providing clear feedback and developing engineering leaders
- Ensuring high technical standards by instituting processes and culture
- Working with engineering and product leadership to build a long-term roadmap
- Coordinating execution and collaborating across teams to unblock cross-cutting projects
Requirements include:
- 12+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems and processes around testing, monitoring, SLAs
- Extensive experience as a Software Engineering Leader, building and scaling software engineering teams from the ground up
- Extensive experience managing a team of strong software engineers
- Partnering with PM, Sales, and Customers to develop innovative features and products
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
