The Director, Solution Engineering - Key Accounts Opportunity

As a Director, Solutions Engineering - Key Accounts, you will lead the Solutions Engineering team focused on Okta's most strategic customers. You will partner with Key Account sales leadership and the cross-functional team to create and execute plans to achieve ambitious growth targets.

What you'll be doing

  • Build and Lead a World-Class Team: Lead a team of five Principal+ Solutions Engineers, driving the full hiring process and fostering professional growth.
  • Drive Strategic Engagements: Champion a structured approach to strategic presales engagements, using technical strategies and roadmaps to win large deals.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Establish and track KPIs to measure team success and refine processes to optimise efficiency.
  • Serve as an Executive Sponsor: Work on strategic deals, providing executive sponsorship and proposing innovative strategies.
  • Build Strategic Alliances: Partner with Sales Leadership to operationalise enterprise sales methodologies.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Demonstrated success in a presales leadership capacity, selling to Fortune 50 companies.
  • Experience building and leading geographically distributed teams.
  • Proven experience building and scaling repeatable, strategic engagement models.
  • Experience with Value and Business Outcome-based selling methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence C-level executives.
  • 7+ years of presales leadership experience.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep expertise in the security product market.

Salary Information

The OTE range for this position varies by location:

  • San Francisco Bay area: $327,000-$450,000 USD
  • California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington: $292,000-$402,000 USD
