Description

As a Machining Process Engineer at Ford, you will play a crucial role in the Global Product Development System (GPDS), serving as a bridge between product design and physical production.

You will lead the planning, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities for various powertrain programs, including traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Transmission, and Axle programs, as well as Electrification projects such as Power Units, eDrives, and Battery systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading global powertrain programs through the GPDS cycle
  • Conducting manufacturing feasibility studies and managing program content
  • Developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes using Failure Mode Avoidance tools
  • Managing equipment procurement, design, and delivery
  • Driving investment efficiency and financial stewardship
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve engineering issues and ensure a smooth transition to production
  • Leading the technical evaluation and selection of suppliers
  • Championing continuous improvement and implementing standardized engineered solutions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related)
  • Professional experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically with powertrain systems and new program launches (GPDS)
  • Proficiency in Failure Mode Avoidance tools and a strong understanding of Bill of Process (BOP) and equipment procurement
  • Proven ability to manage program budgets, timing plans, and technical supplier evaluations
  • Advanced proficiency in English for global reporting and cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams
