Mechanical Design Engineer

Prodrive is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Engineering Vehicle Design group. The successful candidate will provide mechanical design expertise across various high-performance motorsport programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design structural components across chassis, suspension, steering, and braking systems.
• Collaborate with Structural Analysts to develop and optimise mechanical systems.
• Produce concept designs and detailed engineering solutions meeting performance, weight, and cost targets.
• Deliver CAD assemblies and detailed designs within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Release parts and assembly structures onto Bills of Materials.
• Ensure accuracy and maintenance of Bills of Materials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Consider the commercial impact of design decisions on component manufacture and future Bill of Materials costs.
• Support design reviews and continuous improvement activities.
• Liaise with external suppliers and internal departments to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet programme requirements.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a high-performance motorsport design environment.
• Proven expertise designing chassis, suspension, steering, and braking components and assemblies.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent CAD skills, with Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience an advantage.
