We are recruiting for a Material Controller to join our fantastic MSO department in Woking. This is a role which requires the candidate to work closely with assigned suppliers to ensure ordered materials arrive into McLaren on-time and in-full. The role is responsible for all aspects of supplier logistics quality thereby ensuring the efficient and effective inbound flow of material to support MSO’s bespoke, heritage and private commission programmes.
The successful candidate will create and maintain achievable delivery plans that satisfy the combined requirements of production, dealer-fit, MSO workshop and any other sources. They will also support MSO’s Idea-to-Fulfilment process alongside other departments to ensure suppliers can deliver bespoke requests.
Key responsibilities include managing appropriate processes with the suppliers for the early identification, communication and mitigation of supply risk. The Material Controller will be the point of contact for their assigned suppliers and the related material availability concerns within the organisation.
They will work with supplier contacts to ensure an effective, mutually beneficial, working relationship. Additionally, they will work with onboarding suppliers, including supply chain setup and readiness.
The ideal candidate will adopt an approach of continuous improvement for both internal processes and supplier logistics quality with their suppliers. They will own and manage assigned supplier MSO stock to the correct inventory levels whilst minimising premium freight spend and obsolescence to deliver stability to McLaren’s operations.
They will also manage their supply base against defined KPIs to support business improvement.
Requirements include understanding of Automotive OEM supply chains and supplier manufacturing processes. Experience of working with MRP and or SAP is desirable.
