As an Information Security Intern, you will support the cybersecurity team in protecting the organisation's information systems, data, and infrastructure. The role provides hands-on exposure to security operations, risk management, and emerging technologies, including cloud computing, AI-driven security capabilities, and basic offensive security practices.
Key responsibilities include: Assisting in monitoring security alerts (e.g., SIEM, EDR, email security tools) Supporting incident detection and basic investigation Assisting in vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking Supporting security audits, risk assessments, and compliance activities Helping review and document security policies, procedures, and controls Participating in user access reviews and identity management processes Assisting in phishing simulations and security awareness programs Supporting basic security testing activities (e.g., scanning, validating findings) Maintaining security documentation, dashboards, and reports
Learning exposure includes: Security tools (SIEM, EDR, IAM, DLP) Cyber threats (phishing, BEC, malware, account compromise) Frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS) Cloud security fundamentals (AWS, Azure, GCP) AI/ML applications in cybersecurity (e.g., threat detection, automation, anomaly detection) Basic offensive security concepts (e.g., vulnerability scanning, penetration testing fundamentals, attack techniques) Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) practices
