Description
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of RISK AND COMPLIANCE FINANCIAL ENGINEER.
Principal responsibilities: Governance and Committee Memberships - Regular team meetings - Specific project governance committees (as required) Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders - Own the technical design/architecture for MEX-related engineering deliverables, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable and aligned to strategic direction. Implement software strategically, following best practice to ensure solutions address evolving business and regulatory requirements. Work closely with Analytics teams to build software solutions that are practical, workable and comply with accounting, regulatory or other requirements. Ensure FIM and other applicable accounting/regulatory requirements are met; liaise with Internal/External Audit and regulators where necessary (as per project needs). Deliver across multiple concurrent projects/workstreams, particularly around MEX/FRAME, supporting broader Risk & Compliance technology outcomes. Maintain focus on process optimisation and identify opportunities to enhance cost efficiency (e.g., automation, standardisation, centralisation). Leadership & Teamwork - Work with all other areas within the R&C teams. Foster strong working relationships between Analytics, Business, Transformation and IT teams. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels of seniority and different backgrounds in a challenging but collegiate environment. Actively engage with other team members for development projects and contribute to team discussion.
Requirements:
- 5+ years hands-on professional experience in Python software development (building production-grade services/applications).
- Strong experience delivering application/software development across multiple projects and technologies in parallel.
- Knowledge of finance (particularly quantitative finance) and experience in Risk and/or Analytics.
- Good understanding and appreciation of regulatory requirements and audit requirements, and how these translate into engineering controls.
- Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholder groups (Business, Risk, Audit, Compliance, Regulators).
Skills:
- Expert/strong hands-on Python, including Flask/FastAPI, Pandas, NumPy.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: OO design, functional programming, architecture patterns, algorithms, code quality and testing practices.
- Strong capability designing robust and secure APIs and service interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies and engineering best practices.
- Solid database knowledge: SQL, relational and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of REST, gRPC, Apache Beam, Docker, Kubernetes.
- CI/CD pipeline experience (ideally Jenkins).
- Dash or other UI frameworks.
- Prompt engineering.
- C++ (nice to have).
