Principal Software Engineer

The Windows team at Microsoft is building a Centre of Excellence in India, focusing on services for creating new signature and personalised experiences. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead multiple teams and partner with Windows and services teams globally to build and deploy cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead high-caliber Software Engineers, ensuring project excellence and technical leadership.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, product management, and engineering teams to influence and align the product vision.
• Drive the adoption and practical application of AI across product features and engineering productivity.
• Deliver high-quality results with full ownership.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, customer focus, collaboration, and diversity and inclusion.
• Hire and develop top talent.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 12+ or 10+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• 6+ years of experience designing, building, and shipping distributed software services for Web applications and cloud services at scale.
• Experience with modern tech stacks like React, Redis, Kubernetes, Azure.
• Solid design, coding, debugging, teamwork, partnership, and communication skills.
• Expertise in ML concepts and algorithms, along with a deep understanding of LLM usage patterns and agentic frameworks.
